Embedded System

An embedded system is a special-purpose computer system designed to perform one or a few dedicated functions, often using real-time computing. It is usually embedded as part of a complete device including hardware and mechanical parts. Embedded systems can generally be designed to be relatively small in size and weight while still maintaining most larger system functionality.

TASPS – Tactical Antenna Switching and Positioning System

TASPS is a portable system that uses navigational data acquired from multiple sources to switch radio antennas for maintaining solid satellite communication. The system utilizes dual GPS receivers and an electronic compass to ensure reliable functionality. TASPS is small enough to fit into limited spaces and light enough to be carried by a single person. The rugged design enables it to handle harsh environmental conditions. View Data Sheet

AEPS – Switch Drawer

CNI created a custom design for this Switching Box which met and exceeded the customer’s unusual requirements. This high amperage, DC voltage application included the simulation of filters and batteries. CNI designed and acquired multiple small Printed Circuit Boards to fulfill the needs of this unique application. View Data Sheet

IWS - Integrated Wheel Set System

The IWS is a PXI based data acquisition system that is designed to receive 16 or 32 strain gage inputs from 1 or 2 train car wheel sets. The inputs are combined using algorithms to provide outputs that are a measure of various combinations of vertical, lateral, and longitudinal forces on the wheels.
